The Squirrels Nest is a quaint, historic log cabin overlooking the James River in Buchanan, Virginia. The home originally set high upon the Blue Ridge Mountains and during construction of the Blue Ridge Parkway was moved to its current location on First Street in the heart of the community. The historic home features three bedrooms and two baths accommodating up to six (6) guests. The Kitchen is fully equipped and there is a large flat screen TV in the living room. Covered picnic area at the rear of the property which overlooks the James River providing panoramic views of the historic Town of Buchanan and surrounding mountains. The Squirrels Nest is located near many local attractions that are within walking distance such as Antiques shopping, the swinging bridge, fishing, canoeing, tubing and kayaking on the James River. Other attractions not too far away include The Natural Bridge, Safari Park, and Zoo. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail and numerous hiking or biking trails. We are located thirty minutes from Downtown Roanoke and Downtown Lexington.
