Projects and Announcements

The Town of Buchanan is currently updating its Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is the document which outlines the goals and objectives of a community and serves to inform decisions related to strategy, policy, and development. Considered a "living" document, the Comprehensive Plan provides the framework for the future and is typically updated every five (5) years. This project is currently being led by the Planning Commission, but citizens are strongly encouraged to participate by providing feedback through the following:

  1. Completing the What Makes Buchanan, "Buchanan"? survey: https://bit.ly/WhatMakesBuchananBuchanan2.
  2. Attending the regularly scheduled Planning Commission meetings. Citizens in attendance who sign up to speak will have an opportunity to comment and/or provide input on the Plan.
