Utilities

For utility maintenance issues during normal business hours (M-F, 8am-5pm) please contact Jake VanNess with IES at (540) 620-3029

For after hours utility emergencies, please call the IES 24 hr line at (540)325-0748

For water billing issues, please contact Town Clerk Hannah Crawford at (540)254-1212 x 1

For public water or sewer emergencies (not on private property) after 5:00pm, and on weekends, please call Sheriff’s Dispatch at (540) 473-8230 and Town staff will be contacted.

Town Council

Regular Town Council Meetings are held on the Second Monday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Buchanan Town Hall Meeting Chambers located at 19753 Main Street.

Town Elections

Elections are held every year on the first Tuesday of November with the general elections. Elected officials are sworn in on January 1st of the next year. Two seats are elected on even numbered years, along with the Mayor, and the two other seats are elected on odd numbered years.

The polling place for registered Town voters is the Buchanan Elementary School located at 255 Schoolhouse Road. For more information, please contact the Botetourt County Registrar at (540) 928-2120.
